Nelson Rd. remodel was just shy of a complete rebuild. The entire house was torn down to the studs and everything was relocated throughout the entire house. We started with a blank slate essentially with only a few parameters. The color of the cabinetry is a standard stain on Knotty Alder with a Custom Blue Paint for the island. The island features a custom 3″ thick natural maple John Boos block countertop with an oiled finish. This in conjunction with the blue paint was a nice fresh addition of color. The countertops you can technically cut on, and requires regular maintenance, but the homeowners are up to the task. Above the range we stepped the cabinets back from 13″ to 12″ to create a little shape and break for the crown molding to reduce the amount of seams. Plus it works well for the depth of the hood. The diagonal cutlery divider was the home owners idea and it works great to not overcrowd the drawer, everything has a place. The 5 bathrooms throughout the house include multiple paints from white to gray to light blue.
